Declan -  Team Lead, Altitude Control System  Declan is a senior mechanical engineering student with a passion for space. He is looking forward to being a part of the team over the coming years, as well as designing, building, and launching as many rockets as possible. Outside of the classroom, Declan enjoys reading, soccer, and playing music.

  Kaitlin -  Team Lead, Fin Analysis  Kaitlin is a senior mechanical engineering major. Her interest in rocketry and space exploration first started with launching model rockets in the park with her father. For her high school senior project, Kaitlin shadowed the talented scientists and engineers of NASA’s SOFIA Program at Armstrong Flight Research Center, at Edward’s Air Force Base. In her free time, Kaitlin enjoys playing the drums, solving Rubik's cubes, and kayaking.

Kaitlin is a senior mechanical engineering major. Her interest in rocketry and space exploration first started with launching model rockets in the park with her father. For her high school senior project, Kaitlin shadowed the talented scientists and engineers of NASA’s SOFIA Program at Armstrong Flight Research Center, at Edward’s Air Force Base. In her free time, Kaitlin enjoys playing the drums, solving Rubik's cubes, and kayaking.

  Ethan -  Vice President, Safety Officer,  Altitude Control System  Ethan is a junior chemical engineering student who has been involved with model rocketry for many years. He enjoys building robots, developing video games and working with microelectronics; however, his greatest passions come from the arts. When not practicing his flute or inking in his sketchbook, he can be found wandering around campus with a camera slung around his neck.

  Ryan  - Rover Payload Lead  Ryan is a senior mechanical engineering student with an interest in the aerospace industry and space exploration. He has a passion for design and loves the challenge of bringing those designs into reality. In his free time, Ryan enjoys watching sports, hiking, and skiing.

  Amelia  – Secretary, Rover Payload  Amelia is a junior mechanical engineering student with a strong interest in aerospace applications. She is excited for her second year working with the UMass Rocket Team and hopes to be a helpful addition to this year’s team. When she’s not reading about space exploration and astrophysics, you can find her playing softball for the UMass club team or hanging with friends.

  Justin  - Rover payload  Justin is currently a senior mechanical engineering student with a minor in engineering management. He hopes to work for an aerospace company in the future and eventually work on the business side of aerospace. In his free time Justin enjoy watching movies, playing golf, and spending time outside.

  Tony  - Recovery Lead  Tony is a 4rd year mechanical engineering and computer science student at UMass Amherst. He is passionate about transportation engineering, specifically with the vehicles (air, land, or sea) that move humans. He has experience 3D printing, is versed in multiple programming languages, and taught himself electronics last year. In the spare moments of free time he has, Tony enjoys hiking, playing Frisbee, and jamming to his guitar.

In his free time, Ryan enjoys playing sports, being with friends, reading, and listening to music among other things.

  Ahnya  - Recovery  Ahnya is a junior mechanical engineering student here at UMASS. She was born and raised in Norton, MA where she grew up doing gymnastics, Irish Step dance, and Tae Kwon Do. The youngest of 5, Ahnya graduated from Norton High School in 2015. Her hobbies include road biking, pick up soccer, boating, and art. In addition to the Rocket Team, she am also a member of Engineers Without Borders, Girl Up, and Society of Women Engineers. Ahnya love penguins and eating ice cream on the beach.

He is excited to be applying his experience with microcontrollers and circuit design to a real-world project. An Eagle Scout, Noah enjoys hiking, camping, and community service. In addition, he likes to sail, bike, swim, and play piano.

Noah is a senior computer systems engineering student with an interest in embedded systems. He is excited to be applying his experience with microcontrollers and circuit design to a real-world project. An Eagle Scout, Noah enjoys hiking, camping, and community service. In addition, he likes to sail, bike, swim, and play piano.

  DAN  - Computational Fluid Dynamics Analysis  Dan is a senior mechanical engineering student who has an interest in automotive aerodynamic research and design. This is Dan’s first year on rocket team and he is very excited to apply what he’s learned in computational fluid dynamics to the fin design. Dan enjoys motocross, geocaching, and racquetball and spends his free time listening to podcasts and checking his credit score.
